Venturi casings.-A fluid-operated valve in which the valve and casing are both of streamline form is constructed with an abrupt change in the contour of the valve or casing in the vicinity of the seating to produce a force which equalizes the weight of the valve and the force of the closing spring. Fig. 3 shows alternative forms of the valve and casing on the two sides of the centre line, and Fig. 4 shows a form in which the guide member 8 is integral with the casing and contains the spring 10 for closing the valve 9. A form in which the valve is annular is also described.
