Wedging or jamming. - A rotary conical plug cock, maintained tight in its seating by a spring 15 at its larger end, is evenly eased therefrom to facilitate rotation by tapered pegs 26 engaging corresponding recesses 27 in the end of the plug or in bushes screwed therein, the pegs being carried by a plate 25 pivotally mounted between lugs 24 on a flange 22 of the operating spindle 20.
