Abstract

922,362. Valves. NORDISKA ARMATURFABRIKERNA A.B. Sept. 13, 1961, No. 32910/61. Class 135. A safety valve comprises a valve closure member 4 loaded on to its seat 3 by a spring 6 located between an abutment 9 on a valve stem 11 and an externally-threaded nut member 7. The stem passes through a central hole of the member 7 and a hole 15 in a lever member 18, the stem and holes being so shaped to prevent rotation of the stem relative to these two members. The stem is preferably of hexagonal cross-section and the hole 15 rectangular. A removable screw 24 is provided which, when removed, allows the stem and lever to be disengaged when rotation of the stem rotates the member 7 to adjust the spring loading. In operation, the valve may be opened by fluid pressure without movement of the lever 18 or the valve may be opened manually by movement of the lever about its pivot 19.
