Abstract

847,362. Valves. KOSWA Ltd. May 14, 1957 [April 12, 1956], No. 11195/56. Class 135. A valve comprising a body having axially aligned inflow and out flow connections 2 and 3 on either side of a valve seating 10 and an oblique branch 4 which supports an in ternally screv threaded valve bonnet 5 in which a valve spindle 6 carrying t closure member 9 en gages, a tapped boss 15 is provided on the oblique branch 4 and a similar boss 14 may be provided, preferably in the plane of the spindle and the other boss, on the connection 2 remote from the valve chamber A for the connection of a drain off cocks or air venting devices. The valve stem also carries a second member 12 which engages a seating 13 on the bonnet in the open position of the valve so that the gland 7 may be repacked with the valve under pressure. The closure member 9 is described in Specification 847,361.
