725,098. Valves. ALSINA, E. N., and MARQUET, M. G. Aug. 20, 1953 [Aug. 29, 1952], No. 23006/53. Class 135. A valve comprises a easing 18 bored longitudinally and provided with a partition 2 and an outlet 3, a rigid or elastic valve head 8 having a part spherical surface and co-operating with a rigid or elastic seat 4 and carried on one end of a longitudinally slidable stem 7, a sealing diaphragm 5 through which the stem 7 passes, and a spring 11 positioned between the partition and diaphragm to urge the valve head to the closed position. Stem 7 carries an operating knob 9 at its outer end. The spring does not act directly on the diaphragm but bears on a washer 10. The unit shown may be enclosed in a draw-off tap wherein the knob 9 is acted upon by the end of a rotary screwed operating spindle.
