Class 7(6) [Also in Group XXIX] The rotation of a poppet on its seat is produced by the compression, during opening of the valve, of a washer 20 having resilient radial tongues twisted about radial axes and interposed between the valve stem 18 or a part 16, 19 rotatable therewith and a part rotatable relative thereto, e.g. the valve stem guide 21, 22. The washer acts on the part 16, 19 through the spring 15.
