In a check valve, Fig. 1, or a check and feed valve, Fig. 2, the closure member 19 has an auxiliary resilient closure member 22 attached thereto. The member 22 seats on an extension 14a of the seat 14 in advance of the seating of the member 19 and is deformed in the final closing movement. According to the Provisional Specification the disc member co-operates with a seat which is spaced from the main seat in the direction in which the closure member is moved. Specification 822,147 is referred to.
