Abstract

705,841. Sluice valves. THORNROS, E. O. Feb. 14, 1951 [Feb. 14, 1950], No. 3558/51. Class 135 A sluice valve comprises a closure member formed of discs 2, Figs. 1, 3, each joined by a neck 3 to a member 5 guided in the body 1 by ribs 7 and having a lateral slot 6 to render the closure member resilient. An operating rod 4 has a conical part 10 extending between upper and lower collars 8, 11, respectively, and engaging a conical hole in the centre of member 5. When the valve is closed, part 10 urges the discs against the body seats, and when the rod is raised, the collar 11 abuts the member 5 to move the closure member to open position.
