Abstract

695,400. Stoppers. MARCOUX, D. D. M., and DETANNE, S. Feb. 22, 1951 [Feb. 23, 1950; Nov. 8, 1950], No. 4368/51. Class 125(iii) A resilient closure for bottles &c. comprises a top 7 formed as a frusto-conical, member to cooperate with the neck and joined by a thin flange to a skirt 4 having ribs 5 and an enlarged part 6 engaging beneath the neck bulge, the skirt being connected by a lug 3 to a retaining ring 2. The parts may be integral with one another or the lug may be pivoted to the skirt and the ring. As shown in Fig. 4, a stopper 8 is frictionally held in the frusto-conical top. Alternatively, the stopper may be held in an orifice in the top. In a further modification, Fig. 7, the top 16 is shaped as shown and is connected to the skirt 11 by a thin part 17.
