Abstract

782,574. Container closures. BRITISH XYLONITE CO., Ltd. July 19, 1955 [July 26, 1954], No. 21740/54. Class 125(3). A screw cap closure 36 has projecting downwardly from the underside of the head a surface 37 with a central recess 39 and one or more annular teeth 38 to make line sealing contact with the container mouth. In a modification concentric ribs 42 are provided, Fig. 5. In another modification the teeth or ribs bear on a ply stopper within the container mouth. In yet another modification, Fig. 8, the closure has also a depending sleeve 48 which fits into the container mouth.
