Abstract

1,121,448. Stoppers. MACK WAYNE PLASTICS CO. 13 April, 1966 [15 April, 1965], No. 16144/66. Heading B8T. An internally screw-threaded stopper 10 has an outer ring-shaped resilient bead 24 and an inner concentric ring-shaped divergent sleeve 26 on its lower surface 21, so proportioned that as the stopper is screwed home on a bottle &c. neck 12, the bead and sleeve are squeezed together against the top surface 18 of the neck to provide a seal. As shown, the stopper 10 is moulded integrally from a plastics material, but alternatively its top 20 and skirt 22 may be of metal. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 788,148.
