The neck of a container has a sharp line edge 9 defined by the intersection of a frustoconical surface with the outer surface of the neck. The neck, which is integral with the container, is adapted to receive a screw closure having a plane undersurface, the engagement of the edge 9 and the undersurface of the closure forming a seal.
