Abstract

1,010,762. Stoppers. PERMUTA CLOSURES Ltd. Feb. 16, 1962 [Feb. 16, 1961], No. 5780/61. Heading B8T. A screw-type bottle closure is moulded in one piece from a resilient plastic material, e.g. polythene, and includes a skirt portion 4 with an annular rib 5 which engages beneath a shoulder 6 on the bottle neck beneath the screwed portion 7 thereof when the closure is fully screwed home; thus, unscrewing of the closure is prevented so long as the skirt remains intact. The skirt has spaced grooves 8 forming lines of weakening, and a tab portion 12, whereby the skirt may be torn from the closure so that the latter may be unscrewed. The tab defined by slots 10, 11 is urged outwardly from the bottle by a projection 13. In a modification the closure comprises a screwed stopper adapted to screw into a bottle neck, and is integral with a skirt and tab as above described.
