A pouring lip a<SP>3</SP>, the thickness of which gradually decreases towards its outer edge, is formed as a continuation of a narrowed extension a<SP>2</SP> of the neck a<SP>1</SP> of a plastics bottle a. The neck is screw-threaded to receive a cap b which has a downwardly depending annular flange b<SP>1</SP>, which fits inside the narrowed extension so that a fluid-tight seal is formed.
