Abstract

969,103. Stoppers &c. METAL CLOSURES Ltd. June 21, 1963 [July 25, 1962], No. 28555/62. Heading B8T. A liner for a screw-threaded container closure comprises a moulded disc of resiliently deformable plastics material, such as polyethylene, having a series of closely spaced concentric ribs F on at least one face thereof for engagement with a top sealing surface H around the mouth of a container and having a thickened peripheral rim A. The thickness of the liner through the ribs is 0.065 inch and is substantially equal to the thickness through the peripheral rim. The disc is 1.2 inches in diameter and the rims lie on that part of the liner extending from a diameter of 0.68 inch to a diameter of 0.98 inch.
