Abstract

1,073,124. Container closures. GIBSON ASSOCIATES Inc. Sept. 27, 1965, No. 41047/65., Heading B8T. A screw cap includes an annular ring 7, 8, 9 of inverted Y-shape in cross-section depending from its top wall for sealing engagement with the annular rim of a container to which the cap is screwed. The parts 8 and 9 comprise annular resilient flanges which, on engagement with the rim which may be chamfered at its inner edge, are splayed radially inwardly and outwardly respectively and provide a double seal.
