Abstract
1,239,371. Caps for containers. STERLING SEAL CO. 11 Feb., 1969 [12 Feb., 1968], No. 7379/69. Heading B8T. In a combination of a cap 10 and an aerosol can &c., the cap 10 comprises three annular walls 13, 15, 16. The inside wall 16 is sealed at its top and joined at the bottom to the intermediate wall 15 which is linked, by an annular port 14 at its top, with the outer wall 13 which extends downwardly to an open end 12. The cap may engage the can positively or frictionally either at this open end 12 or at the junction of the intermediate and inner walls. The annular slot 17 formed between the intermediate and inner walls may have the form of individual annularly spaced pockets, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The internal part formed by the inner wall 16 and the top 29 may have a weakened portion around its perimeter to provide a tamper-proof seal, Figs. 7 and 9 (not shown). In this case the lower edge of the outer wall would be fixed to the can. The external wall may be screw threaded on to the can.
