Abstract

1,092,935. Bottle &c. closure caps. WEST CO. March 23, 1965 [June 15, 1964], No. 12171/65. Heading B8T. A bottle closure 10, comprises a metal cap 30 connected by a weakened juncture 36 to an outer wall 50 of a retaining ring 32, the inner wall 52 of which contains grooves 56, which engage ribs 20 on a bottle neck 12 to prevent relative rotation between the retaining ring and bottle, the cap being deformable to fit into threads 16 on the bottle neck. The bottle closure is similar to that described in Specification 940,119 but the double wall gives extra rigidity to the cap 30 and eliminates the rough edge encountered in a single wall retaining ring.
