Abstract

1,205,887. Caps for bottles. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. 8 April, 1969 [21 May, 1968], No. 24204/68. Heading B8T. A flexible integral plastics closure for a necked container 4 has a skirt 2 with at least one annular flexible fin 5 extending around its interior and which is deformed on application of the closure, by the neck 3 of the container 4. The closure may be retained in position on the neck by snap fitting beads 6, 7 or screw threads (8, 9), Fig. 4 (not shown). Additional sealing members may be used and may be a sealing disc 10, an annular plug (12), Fig. 7 (not shown) depending from the inner face of the crown or a flexible annular claw (11), Fig. 6 (not shown), depending from the inner face of the crown and sealing on the top of the neck. The closure may include a pouring spout (13), Fig. 8 (not shown), closed and sealed by a captive cap.
