Abstract

1286632 Safety closures H J TOWNS 3 Sept 1969 [7 May 1969] 43591/69 Heading B8T A closure for a bottle intended to be difficult for a child to open, comprises a cap 17 which snap fits on to the neck of the bottle 10 by means of bead 19 and groove 14. An aperture 30 provided in the top of the cap for discharging the contents of the bottle, is sealed by means of a flap 32 on which is a sealing plug 31. The flap may be opened by inserting a fingernail into aperture 25 and levering up the flap which is fitted flush with the top of the container thus rendering it difficult for a child to open. In Fig. 5 (not shown), a nose is formed around the discharge orifice 31 and the flap has a socket into which this locates, thus sealing the discharge orifice. The bead and ridge 19 and 14 may be provided with additional beads and grooves in Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown).
