Abstract

1,039,838. Container closures; opening containers. MAUSER KOMM. GES. Aug. 28, 1964 [Sept. 13, 1963], No. 35407/64. Headings B8D and B8T. A closure for a plastics container has a frustoconically shaped outward projection 13 with a flat top wall 12 which is provided with a tear tag 14 and two grooves 11, 15, Fig. 2 (not shown), around which the top wall can be torn open. Groove 15 may be radially positioned and links the tab 14 and the groove 11 which runs around the centre of the closure. The closure is resiliently formed with an outer rim 4 and a side wall 3 which seal against an annular recess 9 and a constriction 7 formed in the container wall 2 respectively.
