Abstract

1,150,170. Container closures. MACKWAYNE PLASTICS CO. 27 Feb., 1968 [28 Feb., 1967], No.9303/68. Addition to 1,121,448. Heading B8T. A modification of the screw cap according to Specification 1,121,448, includes indentations 40 in the lower periphery of the bead 24 which allow the annular skirt 26 to expand upwardly and outwardly in response to an excessive pressure within the container, which is thus safely released via the screw-threads to atmosphere. Various shapes of indentation are provided, Figs. 7-11 (not shown).
