Abstract

1,082,983. Container closures. P. S. V. BAARN. Nov. 3, 1964, No. 44699/64. Heading B8T. A closure for a container having a dispensing opening comprises a plug 13 having an annular skirt (52, Fig. 7) fitting into the opening and a lid assembly 21 having annular walls 64, 60 fitting over the plug and around the container, said plug 13 being provided with areas 2, 3 formed with dispensing apertures 4, 5 and said lid assembly 21 having hinged lids 7, 6 pivoted at parts 31, 30 for closing the apertures 4, 5. Projections 25, 18 on the lids 7, 6 seal the apertures 4, 5 and projections 41, 74, normally fitting in cavities 32, 22 in the plug, rest on top of the plug to support the lids 7, 6 in an open position. Initially, the lids 7, 6 are sealed by tear strips. The closure may be circular or oval in section.
