Abstract

945,720. Container closures. GEE MANUFACTURING CO. Ltd. Aug. 7, 1962 [May 10, 1961], No. 16932/61. Addition to 732,707. Heading B8T. A container closure 10 as claimed in Claim 1 of the parent Specification is provided with two or more methods of discharging the contents through the aperture 14 by means of two or more different discharge areas in the resilient sealing disc 20 which are brought into register with the aperture 14 on rotation of the disc 20. As shown in Fig. 1 the discharge areas in the disc 20 are a plurality of small holes 22, a triangular aperture 23 with upstanding wall portions 24 which provide a pouring spout, and an aperture 25 corresponding in shape and size to the aperture 24. The unperforated area 26 seals the aperture 24. An upstanding lug 27 facilitates rotation of the disc 20. Recesses 28 in the underside of the disc 20 co-operate with corresponding projections 16 of the closure 10 so that the disc 20 is readily located in any one of the four positions. The apertures of the disc 20 and/or the closure 10 may be provided initially with readily displaceable or puncturable diaphragms.
