Abstract

1,262,743. Non-refillable container; bottle caps. LE BOUCHAGE MECANIQUE. 31 Jan., 1969 [31 Jan., 1968; 3 May, 1968 (2)], No. 5397/69. Headings B8D and B8T. A pouring spout for a container neck 31 includes an anti-fraud valve that only permits flow of liquid out of the container, and is attached by force-fitting a plastics sleeve 2 over the neck; the spout includes a well 12 and a cup-shaped baffle- and/or valve-member 19. In one embodiment, the sleeve 2 locates in a groove 33 of a bottle neck 31 by a continuous or discontinuous rib 5, and is sealed by an annular element 13. A well 12 situated inside the bottle neck 31 supports a movable valve member 19 that closes an emptying aperture 17 when the 'bottle is upright, aided by weighting of a conical portion 21 or by a ball 22. A tamper-proof aluminium closure cap 27 is placed over the spout, preferably at preassembly, and crimped over the spout screw-threads 3 and the bottle shoulder 36. Twisting the cap 27 breaks a weakened line 25, 26 leaving a guarantee band 28 on the bottle neck. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 4, not reproduced), the sleeve (2) projects above the bottle neck forming a well (41) that clamps on to the neck with an inner depending lip (40). The emptying aperture (16) is controlled by a movable disc (18) held in the well by ribs (42) and a baffle (19). The guarantee band covers the seal between spout and neck, and is crimped on to a shoulder (36) of the neck or alternatively of the spout (Fig. 5, not reproduced).
