Abstract

935,574. Container closures. J.P. HINDLEY (M. Kessler). Sept. 30, 1961, No. 35445/61. Class 125(3). A one-piece closure cap to provide a selfventing, fluid-tight closure for a container has on its interior surface a flexible, annular lip 3 to sealingly engage with the rim 7 of the container, nodules 8 being provided on the upper surface of the lip 3 to create a non-uniform sealing pressure between the lip 3 and rim 7. The cap may be internally screw-threaded or of the snap-on type, and is preferably made of a plastic material. In a modification, Fig. 6, nodules 8<SP>11</SP> are provided on the inner top surface 4 11 of the cap.
