Abstract

854,571. Container closures. FENWAL LABORATORIES Inc. Sept. 8, 1958 [Nov. 7, 1957], No. 28797/58. Class 125(3). A closure of rubber or other elastic material for containers of medical and like fluids has an end wall 21 with plug portion 23 and a side wall 22 to embrace the container mouth, the end wall having a circumferential groove 25 which is normally closed by the rim 17 of the container but puts the interior of the container in communication with the ambient atmosphere via side wall grooves 32 when increased internal pressure lifts end wall 21 from the rim 17.
