Abstract

677,311. Stoppers. BRODY, A. A. Nov. 2,. 1950 [Sept. 27, 1950], No. 26797/50. Class 125(iii) A safety closure for poison bottles &c. and mounted about a cork in the bottle comprises a cap 3 provided with inwardly protruding flanges 7 which are insertable behind a flange edge 2 on the bottle neck 1 and which may be moved aside by a separate 'tool 16. The cap is of resilient material and has slots 5 with resilient laps 6 between them having. flanges 7. A spring 11 has a pin 12 passing through a hole 13 in the cap 3 and which enters a groove 14 in a ring 9, when the latter is pushed down, and the ring presses together laps 6 so that the flanges 7 catch hold beneath the flange 2 and prevent removal of the cap 3 until the tool 16 is. inserted through a hole 15 to actuate spring. 11 and disengage pin 12 from groove 14, allowing the ring 9 to be displaced upwardly so that laps 6 spring outward.
