Abstract
968,726. Screw caps. FLETCHER FLETCHER & CO. Ltd. Jan. 17, 1963 [June 17, 1962], No. 1642/62. Heading B8T. A screw cap 16 has a serrated edge defining notches 20, and a ring 17 is depressed against a spring 18 to allow the cap to be screwed home, the ring is then released and a projection 21 thereon engages one of the notches 20, thus preventing removal of the cap. A lug 19, Fig. 2, depending from the ring engages a keyway 15 in the shoulder 14 of a bottle 10, thus preventing rotation of said ring about the neck. In the embodiment of Fig. 4 the projection 26 is carried on an upwardly urged collar 22, said collar having a projection 24 in its wall, which projection engages a vertical slot 25 in the neck 10<SP>2</SP> of the bottle. A third embodiment, Fig. 6, comprises an upwardly urged collar with two upwardly extending notch engaging projections, the collar having two inwardly directed shoulders at the base of the collar slidably mounted in two vertical slots in the bottle wall. A fourth embodiment comprises an upwardly urged notch engaging pin slidable in a vertical slot in the bottle wall, said pin having a lateral extension projecting through a vertical slot in the bottle wall to allow depression of the pin.
