Abstract

1,159,029. Caps for bottles. POPLAR PLAYTHINGS Ltd. 8 Nov., 1966 [8 Nov., 1965], No. 47301/65. Heading B8T. A tamperproof screw cap for a bottle comprises an internally threaded screw cap 1 to the lower edge of which a sleeve 3 is attached by frangible connections 5, the sleeve having teeth 6 which engage corresponding teeth (11), Fig. 2 (not shown), on the bottle neck (7) when the cap is screwed on. The teeth are arranged to prevent the sleeve 3 turning with the cap 1 when it is unscrewed, thereby breaking the connections 5. The teeth (7) may be integral with the bottle neck or may be on a collar secured thereto.
