828,929. Valves. KINNEY ENGINEERS Inc., S. P. Aug. 7, 1956 [Dec. 5, 1955], No. 24195/56. Class 135. In a butterfly valve the damper plate 3 of elliptical form is adapted to seat in its closed position on to a resilient seating-ring 8 recessed into the housing 4. This ring 8 may be of natural or synthetic rubber and is reinforced by a metal insert ring 10. The plate 3 may also be provided with a peripheral rim of resilient material 21.
