A loose ball valve comprises a housing a, a ring-like member a1 secured therein, a rubber or like seating ring b for the ball d mounted thereon and maintained in position by a metal ring itself located by a circlip b2 or other means, the housing being provided with an adjustable screw c carrying a rubber or like buffer c3 which limits the upward movement of the ball.
