791,124. Valves. HAMER, L. S. Dec. 14, 1954, No. 36188/54. Class 135. In a sliding gate valve as described in Specifications 724,577 and 739,519 having a tapered gate D slidable between spaced apart synthetic rubber sealing rings E to control a flow passage 10 through the valve, the rings E are mounted in removable seat rings C which are rigidly secured into recesses 14 in the casing 12, e.g. by screwing, and retained in the seat rings by retainer rings F engaged by keys G as described in Specification 739,519..Recesses in the gate coact with projections on the keys to guide the gate in its movements between open and closed positions. In a modification in which the sealing rings are made of corrosion-resistant chromiumcobalt alloy the seat rings are pushed into the recesses and secured therein by welding.
