669,103. Rotary spherical valves. ARMANDO, G., and EGIDIO, R. April 14, 1949, No. 10147/49 [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 14, 1950]. Class 135. A rotary spherical valve comprises inlet and outlet members 1, 4 screwed together, one of the members carrying a bored packing element 5, e.g. of rubber, and a bored rigid seat disc 2, and the other having a shaped seating m for co-operation with a bored spherical valve member 3 having a control member h secured thereto or integral therewith. The member h projects through a slot b in the inlet member 1, so that the valve can conveniently be operated by the same hand of the operator as holds the valve body. Fig. 8 shows a modification in which to prevent the members 1, 4 becoming unscrewed, each is formed with outer parallel milled surfaces 7 which are embraced by a ring 6 having an inner milled surface.
