961,363. Valves. MANNING, MAXWELL & MOORE Inc. April 16, 1962 [April 18, 1961], No. 14655/62. Heading F2V. A rotary ball valve G has a plastics material 40 moulded around it in situ so as to be encapsulated. The capsule is slightly compressed by and held in position in valve body 30 by pegs 46 on a bonnet 42, the handle H rotating the ball within the capsule via stem 36 slotting into the ball at 58. The steel stem may be integral with the ball, and the capsule may be removable axially of the body by unscrewing a pipe connection end. The moulded plastics material may form the valve body itself, in which case the ball is coated with a polytetrafluorethylene, a linear polyamide, a polytrifluorochloroethylene as a rubber material.
