Abstract

845,239. Valves. MIDLAND INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 12, 1958 [Nov. 27, 1957], No. 36922/57. Class 135. The stem 43 of a lift valve is sealed by a bellows 39 secured at one end to a movable attachment member 36 to which the valve stem is also secured and at the other end to another attachment member 22 secured in the valve body by the bonnet 25. The valve is operated by means of a hand wheel 50 of a screwed cylindrical member 28 which has a flange 29 at its lower end to limit its opening movement and a ball-ended set screw 32 to transfer the reciprocating motion to the attachment member and allow the fully open position of the valve member to be adjusted relative to the fully open position of the hand wheel. The seat 45 is removably secured in the body by means of a screwed apertured ring 47.
