Abstract

1,033,840. Valves. A. L. JOHNSON. March 26, 1965, No 12919/65. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a deformable rubber or plastic closure 38, Fig. 2, not shown, moved by a threaded actuator 32 co-operating with a nut 28. Actuator 32 has an independently rotatable rod 34 extending therethrough which is joined to the member 38. At the limit of opening or closing movement, end members 40 and 42 abut shoulders 22 and 50 respectively and continued rotation of hand-wheel 44 causes the member 38 to be compressed to provide a seal with a body 10.
