Abstract
936,472. Valves. A.P.V. CO. Ltd. Jan. 8, 1960 [Jan. 12, 1959], No. 1084/59. Class 135. The closure member of a rotary valve comprises a disc 3 attached to a spindle 7 and a depending blade 4, the edges 4a of the blade converging towards a curved end portion 4b. The closure member is sheathed with rubber &c. which makes contact with a corre-. spondingly shaped recess in the valve body into which the flow passage opens. The closure member may alternatively be made wholly of hard rubber &c. A sleeve 8 in which the spindle 7 rotates may be axially adjustable. The construction may be applied to a three-way valve.
