Abstract

867,059. Manual sleeve valves. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. May 21, 1959, No. 17333/59. Class 135. In a manually operable multi-way rotary plug cock, an apertured obturating sleeve member 3 is concentric with, and rotates around a hollow inlet pillar member 4. Before putting the cock into use, the body 2 thereof is rotated around the pillar 4 so that the outlets such as 11 point in the desired directions, and the body 2 is then fixed in position by screwing down the pillar 4. The cock shown has two outlet passages such as 11 at right angles to each other but, in a modification, four outlets connected in pairs are provided. The body 2 is held on the pillar 4 by a circlip 8. Leakage-preventing seals 5, 6 and 7 are provided.
