Abstract

1,014,246. Valves. AUDCO Ltd. Nov. 2, 1964 [Nov. 13, 1963], No. 44823/63. Heading F2V. A rotary plug valve comprises a plug 11 formed with a helical groove 16 which cooperates with a pin 17, so that on rotating the handle 18 through 180 degrees the plug rotates and moves axially to align a passage 15 therein with the passage 9 in the valve body. The plug also carries seal rings 12, 13 and 14, the latter of which lies in a plane parallel to the axis of the passage 15 so that in the open position of the valve its plane is parallel to the passage 9.
