[Class 135] A valve spindle has a cam 7 engaging apertures in the upper ends of a spring 5 to relieve the pressure of the spring on shoes 4 and then remove the shoes and spring from the flow ports. The spring may be replaced by two rigid members hinged together at the lower end and acted on by a spring tending to force them apart.
