340,236. Multiple-way plug cocks. INTERNATIONAL COMBUSTION ENGINEERING CORPORATION, 43, Broad Street, New York, U.S.A., and WOOD, W. R., Aldwych House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 16, 1929, No. 28071. [Class 135.] A multiple-way plug cock comprises in combination (1) a conical plug e rotatable on an axis substantially in line with the inlet passage a, (2) inlet and outlet passages a, band c arranged with little change of direction, as shown, (3) a valve seating protected from contact with the fluid in all the working positions of the valve, and (4) an axial inlet and lateral. outlet passage through the plug which is curved to form a smooth continuation of the inlet and outlet passages in the casing. The plug has bearing surfaces d at the upper and lower ends, as shown, and is yieldingly held in its seating by a spring l which abuts on a slidable washer h with packing washer g forced against a shoulder f on the valve casing.
