Abstract

Safety-valves.-A safety valve is provided with a non-adjustable " pop " action ring detachably secured to either the seat or valve member to facilitate grinding the closure surfaces. In the form shown in the Figure the ring c having an upstanding lip c<1> is disposed about an upstanding seat b<1> and is secured in position by screw threads on the main cover a engaging threads on the ring and base part b. A dowel pin or similar device is fitted to ensure the correct disposition of the parts. The valve member e has an annular seating surface e<1> and an overhanging flange e<2> which may have vertical passages and is adapted to co-operate with the lip c'. The detachable ring may be screwed or otherwise secured to the valve member.
