Abstract

198,115. Blakeborough, R. A., and Mosby, S. W. March 13, 1922. Scoring of faces and seats, preventing.-The sealing surfaces of a lift valve are protected by a disc co-operating with a concentric seating and opening after the main valve. The closure member d is provided with an extension d<1> which carries a perforated disc f, pressed downwards by a spring g. When the member d is lifted, the disc f remains seated until lifted by the enlarged head d<2>, so that the main seating surfaces are not injured bv the issuing fluid. The concentric seats for the parts d, j, may be in different planes, Fig. 3, or may be separated by a groove h, Fig. 4.
