Abstract

271,356. Creser, A. A. T. Dec. 21, 1926. Lift valves; leakage, preventing.- In a lift valve of the kind packed by a diaphragm and suitable for petrol &c., the operating screw is formed with a shoulder F which, in the open position of the valve enters a recess in the under side of the cover B; this allows the diaphragm to lie flat against the flat under side of the cover unaffected by fluid pressure. In the event of the diaphragm being perforated the shoulder F makes a tight joint against the cover and thus prevents leakage. The valve C is raised from its upstanding seat and opened by a spring, as shown, when the screwed spindle is retracted.
