A rotary, conical valve plug 5 is pressed into its seating bore or eased therefrom by rotation of a nut 9 having a flange 13 coacting with a recess formed between the larger end of the plug and a flange 12 on a member 11 which is secured by screws 10 to the plug and carries an actuating handle 6.
