[Class 135] In a high-lift safety valve of the kind in which a cylindrical extension on the valve member a slides in an adjustable sleeve or valve guide d, the sleeve is keyed to a fixed bush f and has a threaded portion projecting above the bush for engagement by a nut h held in the valve casing and formed externally as a wormwheel for engagement by a worm on an externally adjustable spindle. The projecting end of the spindle is shaped to fit a key and on removal of the latter is shrouded by a removable cover o to prevent unauthorised interference with the valve. The bush f has a flanged head and the nut h is confined between antifriction washers i, j. The sleeve d is held against rotation by a key e.
