545,845. Locking taps or cocks. TURLEY & WILLIAMS, Ltd., SMITH, C. D., and OTTON, D. H. Dec. 17, 1941, No. 17971/40. [Class 135] A plug-cock is actuated by a sleeve 4 slidably mounted on a non-circular stub spindle 3 on the plug and acted on by spring 15 to move projections 9 on the sleeve into locking engagement with recesses in a plate 5 secured to the end of the casing by a cap-nut 8. The plate has upstanding projections 11 adapted to co-operate with the projections 9 when moved out of the locking position to limit the rotary movement of the plug. The faces 13 of the stops 11 form continuations of the faces 14 of the locking recesses and so serve to guide the projections 9 into the locking recesses when the cock is closed. The plug passage is fitted with a throttling member adjusted by a screw 16.
