Abstract

675,528. Rotary disc valves. MAIN, Ltd., R.&A., and MORGAN, S. G. Nov. 22, 1950 [Nov. 22, 1949], No. 29936/49. Class 135. A rotary disc valve has the disc 28, Fig. 1, provided with a triangular recess 30, Fig. 2, permanently communicating with an inlet bore 12 in the body 10 and having an edge 33 which sweeps across an outlet port 13, so that the angular extent of movement between a point when the port first commences to open and a point where it is fully open is greater than the angle subtended by the diameter of the port at the axis of rotation. The disc is rotated by a handle 25 connected to a tubular member 21 having projections 22, 23 engaging slots 35 in the disc, and the projections are urged by a spring 36 into a slot 37 to lock the disc in the off position.
