Abstract

1,019,610. Valves. R. & A. MAIN Ltd. Nov. 18, 1964 [April 15, 1964], No. 15552/64. Heading F2V. A gas valve comprises a rotatable conical plug 21 turned by a member 25, Fig. 4, having a knob 40 attached thereto. A niting pin 30 is positioned in a radial stepped-hole within the member 25 and its outer end moves within an arcuate body groove 15 from the position shown until it abuts the head 35 of a blocking screw. The member 25 is urged by a spring 8 away from the conical plug, which spring also urges the end of the niting pin into an axial slot 32 (Fig. 1, not shown). By axial movement of the member 25, Fig. 4, and removal of the blocking screw, the niting pin can be removed. A cup-shaped bezel 41 incorporating a scale is held in position by a spring 42 and the head 35 of the blocking screw prevents its rotation. A liner 36 is provided for smoothing gas flow.
